Shadow slowly opens his eyes and sits up."Woah... what happened?" Shadow mumbles, shaking his head slowly before stretching.
Despite his arm being in immense pain, Vio runs over to Shadow and hugs him tightly. Vio isn't sure why, but Shadow calms him. Vio's eyes start to well up with tears as he clings to Shadow in a tight embrace. "Shadow.... I'm so sorry..."
Shadow smirks and hugs Vio tightly. "I forgive you, Vi." Shadow says as he pats Vio on the back.
The other Color Guard aren't sure what to do at first, but Red and Green soon smirk and pull Shadow, Vio, and Blue into a big group hug, much to Blue's chagrin.
"Welcome back, Shadow!" Red giggles and hugs them tighter.
Green simply pats Shadow's back affectionately and flashes Shadow a smile.
Blue groans and squirms in the tight hug. "Yeah yeah, welcome back Shadow. Now can you guys let me go? I don't like being this close to you guys and your sappy moments." Blue quips and squirms more.
They all let go and Zelda resumes treating Vio's arm. Green stands up and accidentally knees Blue in the gut in the process, causing Blue to groan and curl up in pain. Green laughs a bit. He likes knocking Blue down a few pegs.
"Oh, so you find this funny, do you?" Blue says as he glares daggers at Green.
"A little, yeah." Green smiles at Blue and shrugs.
"That's it, Green. You, me, duel. As soon as we get home." Blue says as he stands up.
"You're on, Blue." Green smirks and turns away from Blue.
"Can we settle this without a fight?" Red speaks up. He hates it when they fight, even if it is inevitable with those two.
"...Fine. For now." Blue grumbles.
"Test me one more time and it's a fight, Blue." Green glares.
"Fine by me!" Blue grumbles.
Vio rolls his eyes and sighs before wincing in pain as Zelda removes another shard from his arm.
"Is it always like this?" Shadow asks, watching the scene unfold in front of him.
"Sadly." Vio says, shaking his head at the idiocy of his fellow Guard.
They spend around an hour at the castle, chatting with the Princess. She wanted to get to know Shadow. She felt it was important to get to know the new member of the guard. On their way home, thunder booms in the sky. The clouds are dark and hanging low as they threaten rain on those below.
As soon as they get home, Red starts making dinner. Everyone bonds, listening to stories from Shadow about working under Vaati and exchanging their own about their adventures to end Vaati. Eventually, they all sit down to eat their dinner and have a rather good time together. It seems to go a lot smoother now that Shadow is around. Like oil to a machine. Vio and Shadow spend the whole night bonding. Before long, they head to bed. Vio opts to sleep on the couch so Shadow can sleep in his bed. Vio isn't sure why but he can sense something isn't right...
